Kylian Mbappe Shines Again to Secure Real Madrid’s Victory Over Alaves 3-2 in MAJOR La Liga Clash
Kylian Mbappe once again played a pivotal role as Real Madrid secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Alaves in a crucial La Liga clash. Despite leading 3-0 with goals from Lucas Vázquez, Mbappe, and Rodrygo, Real Madrid faced a late scare as Alaves fought back with two quick goals from Carlos Benavídez and Kike García in the 85th and 86th minutes, respectively. However, Madrid held on to secure the win and move within a point of league leaders Barcelona.
Mbappe’s goal was the highlight of the match, showcasing his flair and chemistry with Jude Bellingham. In the 40th minute, Mbappe executed a brilliant give-and-go with a heel flick, evading a defender before calmly finishing to extend Real Madrid’s lead. This marked his seventh goal in all competitions for the club since joining as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain. His impressive form continues, with six goals in five La Liga matches, leaving him just one goal behind Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski in the league’s top scorer race.
However, Mbappe was substituted in the 80th minute due to a muscle issue, which coach Carlo Ancelotti assured was not serious. Lucas Vázquez opened the scoring in the very first minute, capitalizing on a strong run by Vinícius Júnior, while Rodrygo added a third goal early in the second half.
Despite a dominant display for most of the game, with 69% possession and high passing accuracy, Madrid was put under pressure in the final minutes after Alaves scored twice in quick succession. Still, Real Madrid extended their unbeaten La Liga run to 39 matches, comprising 29 wins and 10 draws.
Next up for Real Madrid is the city derby against Atletico Madrid, while Alaves will face Getafe.
